A Message From Jeff:

We have had a very dry, hot summer. I am looking forward to the cooler temperatures of fall. The calendar says it’s September, which means fall is very close. As fall approaches one can feel the change in the air. The air is dryer and cooler that the air of summer. The days get shorter and the leaves begin changing to their beautiful colors. Fall is a change most of us enjoy.

September brings changes to Toney UMC as well. One change is in the leadership of our music and youth. Frank and Cate have served us well. God has blessed TUMC with their gifts and talents for two years. We will miss them. The Staff Parish Relations Committee is actively searching for a Music Director and a Youth Director. When the persons are found, we have a time of transition. In the mean time the wonderful volunteers of TUMC will lead these ministries. Please pray for the Garcias as they move on to another ministry. Also pray for the SPR Committee as we interview and search for the persons God wants at TUMC.

There is another change blowing in the winds this fall. God is providing us opportunities to make disciples for Jesus in three ways: connecting people with God and with others, encouraging people to grow in their relationship with Jesus, and providing opportunities to serve our community in the name of Jesus. Did you know that on an average, 125 families purchase a home within a five-mile radius of the church every month? We are beginning a New Neighbor ministry that will help us connect with our new neighbors. A postcard will be mailed to 100 homes each month and we will follow up on as many of our new neighbors as possible with a welcome packet containing information about TUMC and helpful information about our community. The purpose of this ministry will be to invite people to worship at TUMC. If you want to know more about this ministry, give me a call (859-1073).
