Rev. Eric Bagwell grew up in Huntsville, where his parents, sister and her family still live. Their family life revolved around First UMC in Huntsville and “we were there every time the doors were open.” Many fond memories are from MYF and singing in the children’s and youth choirs.
After High School (HHS 1985) Eric attended Auburn and graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design. For a couple of years he worked as a graphic designer in Florence, Alabama and in Nashville, Tennessee. It was in Nashville in early 1993 that God called him into ministry, and he entered seminary that fall at Emory. Nancy White and Eric were married (smartest thing he ever did) after the first year of seminary. He graduated from Emory in May 1996 with a Master of Divinity.
Pastor Eric has served churches from large to small and everything in between. He enjoys meeting people and getting to know them, long rides on his bike, playing golf (but when he says he finished 6 under, it means he only lost 6 balls that day), loves to read and spend time with his wife, Nancy, and daughter, Emma, who turns 15 this summer.
